Progressive Web App (PWA) in Tabidoo

What is a PWA?

PWA stands for Progressive Web App.

A Progressive Web App is a web application that can behave similarly to an application installed directly on your device.

With PWA support, you can add Tabidoo to your device and open it directly from your home screen or application menu, without having to search for it in your browser every time.

The main advantage is simple: you continue using the same Tabidoo you already know, but with easier access from your device.

Why use Tabidoo as a PWA?

Using Tabidoo as a Progressive Web App can make everyday work more convenient, especially when you frequently use Tabidoo on a mobile phone or tablet.

For example, you can:

• Open Tabidoo directly from an icon on your home screen.
• Use Tabidoo in a more app-like window.
• Access your applications more quickly.
• Use the same Tabidoo account and data as in the standard browser version.

There is no separate Tabidoo mobile application that you need to manage. The PWA uses the web version of Tabidoo.

Installing Tabidoo on your device

Installation depends on your operating system and browser.

In supported browsers, you will usually see an option such as:

Install app, Add to Home Screen, or a similar installation option.

After installation, a Tabidoo icon will appear on your device. You can then launch Tabidoo directly from this icon.

Good to know: PWA installation options can differ depending on your browser, operating system, and device.

What about my applications and data?

Nothing changes in your Tabidoo applications.

When you open Tabidoo as a PWA, you are still working with the same:

• Applications
• Tables and records
• Users and permissions
• Workflows
• Notifications
• Account

There is no need to create a separate mobile version of your application.

Push notifications – coming soon 🔔

We are also working on push notifications for Tabidoo.

Push notifications will make it possible to receive important Tabidoo notifications directly on your device, even when you are not actively working in Tabidoo.

This can be useful for situations such as:

• A new task being assigned to you.
• Someone mentioning you.
• An approval requiring your attention.
• A workflow sending you an important notification.
• An important event or deadline approaching.

Push notifications are not available yet.

We are preparing this functionality as part of improving the Tabidoo experience on mobile devices.
